Taken from Granite Soliel Cabernet Sauvignon 1995
Sierra Foothills, California
A hand-picked treasure from the Golden Age of the Renaissance Vineyard. (Originally Renaissance Vineyard & Winery "Premier Cuvee" Cabernet Sauvignon, now Taken From Granite Soleil) -- North Yuba, Sierra Foothills, 12.5% alcohol -- Medium to dark ruby in the glass, this wine smells of crushed herbs, bacon fat, and red berries. In the mouth the sour brightness of raspberry and red cherries mix with crushed herbs and hints of leather and cedar. Faint powdery tannins linger at the back of the mouth. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Delicious.

Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 2016
Rhone, France
97 Points Wine Advocate
For the 2016 Cornas, a couple of the foudres I tasted from were truly amazing, like the Sabarotte, which is imbued with the bloody-meaty essence of Cornas, velvety tannins and the Reynards Vieilles Vignes, replanted after phylloxera, which showed incredible perfumes and complexity.
